Willard needs to stand on a bucket with a telescope to see AJ in terms of skill and power. Moreover even a guy like Dempsey might not find it too easy to land on AJ without being blasted himself. On the other hand an iffy version of AJ might eat one down the pipe and decide he'd rather be back in the hotel room. Best possible versions though, I think I take AJ on size and skill.

Ruiz would look like a freak of nature in 1919 compared to most boxers of that era. He underachieved in his career, mostly self-inflicted, but on his best night his hands were ridiculously fast for a man his size.

There’s a very good chance Dempsey catches AJ before he could really get into the fight, if he can’t do that in the first 4 rounds I think AJ eventually finds his timing and stops Jack. It’d be best for him to pursue this fight as cautiously as the Ruiz rematch for the early rounds.
