Sure would be fun to see him against Kovalev at LHW. At HW he's without a chance against the top 5 fighters.

1923 Dempsey suffers a brutal KO loss and realizes that he should've stayed in 1923.

    Wilder wins.

Those rose tinted glasses you wear to look at fighters of the past...take them off. Wilder showed he is smart enough to know his own weaknesses, he would tee off the jab the entire night until Dempsey is down and out.

Jack Dempsey. 6'2, 77 inch reach
Bermane Stiverne. 6'2, 77 inch reach.

Yeh, Dempsey would be puny If he was fighting today.

Off-topic, but is it just me, or does Wilder have terrible form? His feet are so far apart, it looks like he's trying to do the splits.

Sugar Roy Leonard did the same and beat the legend that is Marvelous Marvin Hagler. :deal

And Willard was as tough and gutsy as any man who ever climbed into a ring.

I remember reading an interview with someone who met Dempsey when he was an old man, he shook his hand and said he was amazed at how strong his grip was. Freakishly strong. I'd back that ancient shell of Dempsey to spark Burger Squad out cold. :deal

I'm not on the old school train when it comes to comparing early 20th century boxers vs early 21st century boxers. A young, aggressive, hungry Dempsey would be competitive against many, but not all of the top HW"s today. He'd have a chance vs Wilder, maybe a 1 in 4 chance.

Wouldn't have been competitive vs Ali, Lewis, Wlad, but I would have loved to have seen him vs the modern CW's like Qawi, Saad Muhammed, even David Haye (who was way better at 190 than HW).

One lunging hook that connects would send Burger Squad down , and out for the count.. take it to the bank.. a 6'3 fat , immobile Nichols has half the power as Dempsey.. Dempsey hook destroys Wilder not if , but when it connects..

Yup if Nichols dropped Wilder, I see no reason why Dempsey wouldn't do it too.
