I'm talking about Sharkey fight, not Louis one.

How many Schmeling fights have you seen that you call his left hand "not a factor". I've seen him against Stribling, Uzcudun, Walker, Sharkey I and II, Baer, Louis I and II, Hamas, Neusel and Foord. In all of them he used his left hand consistently and effectively. He wasn't your typical jabber, but he had a great timing and used the left to set up right hand really well.

Rereading my earlier post here I'd like to clarify a point .. I do feel Schmeling was a very good fighter and don't mean to in any way marginalize him .. he fought at the top of the division for many years and had several key wins .. I just feel the best Sharkey, who happened to fight in the later 20's and not the 30's , was better .. less consistent but best for best , better .. Schmeling however seemed to be much stronger mentally for sure ..

 

I never mentioned other fights ,just the Sharkey and Louis ones.
Nope I've seen them, and clips of a domestic one when he was really aging against Adolf somebody?

 

Yeah, he outjabbed Sharkey and tried different strategy on Louis.

 

Corbett calling Max a one armed fighter seems strange to me, one armed guys don't beat Joe Louis. I really enjoy watching some of Schmellings video's though. He could give a lot of guys problems

 

Schmeling’s left is pretty underrated, sure his right is obviously his strongest weapon and he mainly used his left as bait for his opponent to open up, but Schmeling showed he could jab effectively in his fights against Stribling and Uzcundun.

Also, no offense, but shut up Corbett. Your punching techniques are ass.
