Though I'd post this link which may be of interest to fans of the 1930's/1940 heavyweight scene

    http://www.britishpathe.com/record.php?id=13877

    - contains assorted footage of Maxie Baer, Tommy Farr, Joe Louis, Jersey Joe Walcott and a bit on Dempsey - all sorts on here training and sparring footage, brief interviews, fight footage and candid out of ring footage too - lots i hadn't seen before - have a look and let me know what you think.

PS for the non-british fans on here try to ignore the ridiculous spiffing commentary on some of it :good

cheers TurpinR - yeah Farr was tough rugged and skilled too - his fight with Joe Louis is one of my favourites - real tough fight - one of the best match ups in Louis career I think - just out of interest how do you think he rates against the likes of Cockell, Henry Cooper, Bugner, Bruno, Lewis (and London haha)? - by the way my grandad uses to drink with Brian London's dad Jack London when he lived in Blackpool (my grandad always used to say his dad Jack was a much better fighter - Brian was just a thug)

Thanks for the other links there GreatA - your youtube collection is pretty amazing too - in fact I think you've done more for true fight fans than ESPN, HBO, SKY Sports or any other sports network in history - keep up the good work - also think you must be super knowledgable would be interested to get your views on some of the greats maybe your top 10 heavys or P4P

cheers aswell He Grant - (haha what does that mean by the way 'He Grant'?

oh also - greata (and anyone else) - but particularly greata coz i know you must be a bit of a collector - if you haven't already - check my thread from yesterday called 'gene tunney spars jim corbett on film!' or something like that - think you'd be interested in that - maybe you could see if you could add it to your youtube collection somehow?

for the record i think farr would beat all those british heavies bar lewis, although he lost to cockell when he was old and washed-up.a fight with bugner would be deadly dul lthough as both liked to box rather than fight.
one of my mates dad fought london when they were doing their national sevice.he was brian sidney harper then rather than london, but still ugly.

Thanks, for the Vids....Farr was old school, too bad it was Louis as Champ or it might have been Tommy, he acquitted himself well...Patterson had skills
