Schmelling's right hand would always be a problem, but Marciano wears Max down and stops him between the tenth and thirteenth.

Sc hmeling poses some problems, knocks him down early but as the fight goes on he get´s worn out by Marciano´s workrate - although I think Schmeling´s awkwardness might slow him down a bit - and heavy punches and get stopped late, around the 13th. Probably a good fight.

I'd like to say Schmeling by KO, but this looks like it could be very even fight.

Max has few advantages and i don't see him folding like many other Rocky's opponents. This could last full rounds.

The 1936 Max Schmeling had noticed a subtle flaw in Joe Louis' style which played into his greatest strength - a powerful right cross. In his autobiography he details how he planned and trained for this fight centered around this observation. He studied films of all of Louis' fights, watching in slow motion, and even in slow motion backwards in order to gauge the origin of each power punch. He increased his roadwork, knowing that he must be in the best possible condition. In short, he really did his homework. The preparation and focus he exhibited for this fight shows Schmeling at his ringwise best. He entered the 1936 fight will a well-planned strategy, expecting to catch an overconfident Louis with his Sunday punch. He also knew that he would have to catch him and hurt him early in order to not be taken out himself before he could execute his plan. Even so, he took a good lacing for the first three rounds before he floored Joe in the fourth round. The rest is well known about how he landed some 90+ right hands over the next eight rounds before he scored a KO in his greatest win. Against Marciano, Max would have to prepare as he did for the first Louis fight - anything less would spell disaster. He would have to nail Marciano early and hurt him, and keep it up through the fight and wear him down, as he did the 1936 Louis. With a well-planned strategy, it took Max four rounds before he could time and land the perfect shot. Marciano's awkward, swarming style would make it more difficult to land such a punch. Although Max would no doubt land some good shots, in Marciano he would be facing a determined, superbly conditioned opponent with a granite chin who was a tireless puncher. I believe that Rocky would wear Max down and win by late round stoppage or a unanimous decision in what would be a real thriller.

Rocky Marciano beats any version of Schmeling. Max would have his moments but the pressure and power of Marciano breaks Max down. Think Baer and Louis II but a little more give and take until Marciano corners the Max...Marciano by KO 1-10 rd.

Max Schmeling in his prime was knocked out by Max Baer. Anyone else think Rocky could overwhelm Schmeling with his punching power like Baer did. Rocky's relentless, right hand were just as good as baer's.

The Rock had to many guns...an awkward style...VERY high workrate...a kill or be killed attitude...and a great chin...conditioning...stamina...and ..the "Suzie Q"...KO for Marciano...

I think Schmeling would trouble alot of ATG's, and don't think he would be an easy out for many/any.

I think Marciano would take this and stop Max in the later rounds 11 on. But Max would make him work for it and might even be up on the cards in the 2nd half of the fight.
