Young would fare well at first, but then Louis would start catching him and around 10th round Young would hit the deck and never recover.
Joe would certainly take a while to work Young out. I think Jack Blackburn could be crucial here. He would be able to devise the right strategy for Louis and Joe was spectacularly efficient at carrying out instructions. Louis by KO anytime after the 8th.
Idk about Louis KOing Young. I've got him losing by unanimous decision and making Joe look absolutely crap in doing so. Not one of Joe's better defense s imo.
Louis at some point catches Jimmy hard and shows why he is one of the very greatest finishers ever. Not many would stop Young but Louis is one of them.
I think Young certainly had the skills to basically survive against Louis. Unless Jimmy gets overly confident against Joe, and ends up like Conn, I can see Young doing everything just to get through the fight. He doesn't stand a chance of beating prime Louis and he'd know it.
I t would be like watching the Joe Louis vs Billy Conn fight all over again. Remember Joe Louis's great quote relating to that fight, He Can Run, But He Can't Hide. Louis bides his time with Jimmy Young, and catches him in round 9 with a smashing right hand that sends Jimmy into dreamland for the full ten count.
