PED's are illegal aren't they? You won't put the 21st century guys back to 1950 and realize they would be in a different era with less training, less PED's, less modern technique which your 21st century "bad a s s e s " possessed. IMHO you place Dempsey, Charles, Louis, etc..and as OG's are considered add Kramer and Hickerson to the list into today and you've got a list of modern wrecking machines! Interesting that OG's aren't a high commodity now with football changing to 'pass first'.
Yes, most of the modern bad a s s e s would wipe the floor with the half a century old (or greater) fighters but, can you not say, with the utmost certainty, that Sugar Ray Robinson was not the greatest fighter to EVER step into the ring??

There weren't events that would let him run. You need the usa track and field to set up an event, to send officials to verify. If you look at Wikipedia or something they'll list records in the early part of the 20th century but those records are bull****. There were guys that had run faster, thrown farther, jumped higher and longer than the guys in the first few olympics buy they were professionals so they didn't count. Owens could have jumped 28 feet and they wouldn't have counted it.

But Owens did keep on running. But that's not enough to excite people so Owens was racing guys at baseball games and giving them headstarts and eventually racing horses (Owens found he could beat the horse if he had the starter shoot off the gun close to the animal). So Owens did run but it was just a sideshow.

I can't tell if you're joking or not. No one was timing him. No one cared. He was racing not running track and field.

    Very good point.:good

Some fighters have what it takes to get the win over a great fighter one time, but he's not beating all the guys the great fighter beats. and he most likely can't be a champion because he won't have a champions consistency since he might only have one elite win in him.
