Louis takes on Young instead of Charles, what happens?

Young does his usual thing and outboxes the old Brown Bomber...then loses the decision. You think the judge and referee favored Louis over Walcott? They would have been predisposed to vote against Young no matter what he did.

Tough call but I don't think Jimmy Young squeaks by. He's not as slick as Walcott and doesn't hit as hard; I think Joe looks old for five to eight rounds (and he looked way older than he was in 1950) then catches him and takes him out.

Oh, and I know it's dubious to use Wlacott as a touchstone or a proxy for Young. As someone else pithily put it, boxing math don't work.

I don't think Joe beats Jimmy. I think the only type of guy to beat an inshape Young is a busy fighter, throughing many punches. They would all miss! but the judges never care

I think Louis might be the type of fighter to stop Young tbh. Young was more cute than a runner and i think Louis' slashing hand speed, accuracy and ability to put punches together could be the ticket.
