1950: LaMotta-Dauthuille II. Obviously, I have never seen this fight, aside from the final round, but going off of research, this was the best fight of the year regardless of me not having seen it.
1951: Robinson-LaMotta VI/ Walcott-Charles III. This is tough, so that is why I chose two. Both were great fights for different reasons. I tend to favor Robinson-LaMotta a little more cuz it was more exciting, but Walcott-Charles III was still a damn good fight.
1952: Marciano-Walcott I. Best fight of the year without a doubt. Would not change it.
1953: Marciano-LaStarza II. I tend to think that there must have been a better fight that year than this one, but this is a heck of a fight. I am satisfied w/ it for FOTY.
1954: Marciano-Charles II is a good fight, but I admit I liked their first encounter more. However, for drama and ebbs and flows, I would choose this one over the 1st. I just can't pick.
1955: Basilio-DeMarco II. No complaints with this one.
1956: Basilio-Saxton II may have been a good fight, but Saddler-Elorde II was quite a bit better. It should have been FOTY. That or Patterson vs. Jackson I.
    1957: Basilio-Robinson I. End of paragraph.
    1958: Basilio-Robinson II is a non-negotiable #2, but I simply cannot see why Moore-Durelle I did not win FOTY for 1958.
1959: Fullmer-Basilio I. Certainly no crime in having this one for 1959's FOTY, but I think I like Ortega-Paret I better for the award.

What are your guys' thoughts? What are your own personal FOTY's for the 1950s?

I enjoyed Gavilan vs Turner more than Marciano vs Walcott. Other than that I basically agree with most of your changes.

Gavilan-Turner would be my third choice actually. Robinson-Graziano would be my second, and Henry-Satterfield my fourth. But all of them great slugfests. Thank you my good man.

I have to second Gavilan-Turner over Marciano-Walcott. I also might put Gavilan-Basilio over Marciano-La Starza. For the most part though, I agree with your picks.

Thnx, and I forgot Gavilan-Basilio. I have to change my decision on that one. I do think that is a better fight.
