When did this happen? Foreman beat cooney, rodrigues, cooper, etc to get the chance to fight an undefeated holyfield.

Yes he came off a loss to challenge moore but that was a title fight and he had three good wins prior to that. And stop saying moore was a weak champion.

I lurked before joining. And ive seen threads of people calling u out, several of them in fact, one of which was while i was an active poster. And when i read the liston threads i saw a lot of the same patterns you do here!

    Then stop bringing morrison up.

Louis isnt stopping foreman, we can agree on that right? Outside if a fluke punchers referee stoppage? He isnt gonna stick and move box circles around him. That leaves the only option beung engaging foreman in a war.

Old man louis was dropped by guys far inferior to old foreman and was stopped by a stubby armed 180 pounder. How is he gonna survive a war with foreman?

Old man louis does not stand up to ATG scrutiny. The two best fighters he faced, a blown up light heavy and a 1 dimensional brawler, beat him soundly and convingly. If anything foreman rates higher for the moore win and being competitive with holyfield.

No it means foreman kicked his ass twice and he would never beat him. Anyone with an iq over 60 knows boxing doesnt follow a b c logic.

I could do the same for the fab 4, norton holmes shavers, mayweather marquez pacquiao, etc. But go ahead and keep showing your bias.

Dont care. Briggs dropped lewis and was praised by lewis for his power. Your scrutiny is irrelavant in the context of obvious punching power.

And here you go again with a back handed compliment.

Show me all these guys in the 90's sending foreman contracts and calling him out that he ignored.

What would be the point if youre just gonna disagree with me and ignore all facts and stats?

For the record, id pick him to beat nearly anyone prior to liston except

    Prime louis
    Jack johnson
    MAYBE tunney

Hed beat the vast majority of those unscientific brawlers and plodders.

I dont get your point? Ali was universally recognized as the best heavy after beating liston but there was still rumblings in regards to terrel, the up and coming frazier, etc. Being the best doesnt mean anyone else who isnt champ is garbage.

Moore was in the top 5 for sure based on the lineal championship he held, a win over holyfield, and being undefeated.

Its been done hundreds of times. Especially old louis, you think any other heavy ranked in a top 20 atg list would struggle with the guys old louis beat?

those fights got George noticed because he was ageorge Foreman. Anybody would replicate those wins, Cooper was smoking crack. He got his purse withheld for non effort against George. Cooney had one win in nearly 6 years. Rodriguez had not been ranked for 2 years.

Foreman had three good wins between losing to both Holyfield and Moorer? George got $5 million dollars for each of those three fights. He outweighed each guy by 30lb the first one had just drew with a cruiserweight who was knocked out 17 Times. The second guy never beat a rated opponent and was a one round Tyson victim and really beat George. The third one was fresh of hard losses to Bruno and Bowe..

Moorer was not a strong or average champion though was he?

Louis would hit Joe a lot more than Alex Stewart did. And the referee could have stopped George in that fight and possibly would have had if George was not the name fighter.

Louis can box in the pocket. His tactics against a faster paced more aggressive taller and younger cesar Brion would have been even more effective against a fatter slower Foreman.

nobody but Rocky dropped comeback Louis. Not even Charles and Charles flattened good heavyweights like Baksi, Wallace, Elmer Ray, Bernie Reynolds, Rex Layne, bob Satterfeild, Pat Valentino who were all world rated.

Agreed. That is what old Louis has in common with bald George. Neither of them are ATG calibre.

I don’t think Moorer was as good as Jimmy Bivins. Put the two records up a Bivins beat better guys. Watch film. Bivins looks harder to beat.

I don’t believe this... i can’t believe you are asking for me to educate you on this... It is well documented that Foreman was not taken seriously. He was a sideline. He openly said he didn’t want to fight guys like Lewis etc. He turned down Anders Eklund as an opponent ffs. Until he fought Evander he was a circus act. He told hamburger jokes. Did chat shows. After evander he won more fans and became a high earning novelty. Nobody expected him to go much further than stay winning at a lower level then perhaps challenge again one last time for a pay day. He was very shrewd. He was awarded manager of the year by one Magazine for masterminding his comeback.

HERE IT IS! You are challenging my so called bias when you openly dismiss everything (aside from 3 exceptions) before Liston as unscientific brawlers. Moorer beats Jack Dempsey, max Schmeling, max Baer, Ezzard Charles, jersey joe Walcott???

Ali beat Terrell. He beat the man who beat the man. Ali was the real champion because he didn’t just win the title he won fights that decided who was the best heavyweight in the world.
