Who wins? In a 15 rounder

    Marciano
    -chin
    -power- both hands
    -toughness
    -endurance
    -technique
    -defense

    Wilder
    -length
    -ranginess
    -speed?

Marciano in my opinion gets inside Wilder easily and bombs him mid rounds

With or without the mafia influence over the fight you mean?

Let's not pretend that the Italian mafia was not in Marciano corner making guys fight him and lose to him.

I pick Wilder by today's standards but a quick call from a "goodfella" might make Wilder just another number in Marciano's corrupt legacy.

Wilder, the guy with no footwork, sloppy technique, no inside game and a suspect mandible against a little pitbull like Marciano? This ends badly for Wilder 9 / 10. Maybe 10% of the time DW manages to bring his power to bear and let's be fair, there's few HW's in history that could survive a series of flush Wilder shots.

Let's see how he does vs gramps Ortiz, first. If he suddenly displays footwork, and an accurate jab, tthat assessment could change.

If Wilder fought like he did Stiverne he knocks out Marciano. Marciano's no jab and crouch and swing upwards in a stand still position approach at 5'10?

Wilder has his faults but would he really just stand there and let Marciano grind him down?

I don't think so...speed and athletism with ability to punch at 6'7 is enough for me to pick Wilder here against a slower 68 inch reach Marciano, stats are real you have to include them.

This going 15 rounds? Well I highly doubt that, Marciano would need a stoppage before then and he cut a bit easy. The difference between Wilder and Ali match vs him here are Marciano having a 9 inches in height disadvantage and eating power shots walking in.

Maybe a Wilder in 2012/2013 but the recent one since 2015? I don't see it.

Wilder is too simple, too basic. All he did against stiverne was jab, right hand. Then he did jab, right hand. Then, jab, right hand. And jab, right hand again. Marciano was known for having good head movement. If wilder can't use his jab to set up his right hand, then that is a problem. We haven't really seen how wilder fares against someone who puts him under pressure, who can avoid shots and has movement equal to him.

Yes marciano doesn't have great movement, but when you compare the weight difference here, wilders good movement will probably be equal when you see them in the ring together. If wilder can't utilize the jab as effectively as he usually would, then he will resort to windmill mode. When he does that, marciano will just duck and avoid the shots.

Then you've got to take into account that marciano's height disadvantage will require him to work wilder's body more. Shots to the head won't quite have the sting they normally would because marciano is having to reach further, so he has to rely more on body shots. Wilder's body hasn't been tested yet properly. So I feel like wilder's movement will allow him to avoid the body shots well.

That puts it in a weird scenario. Neither fighter is able to properly hurt each other. I actually think it goes 12 rounds, with neither fighter able to get going and put their stamp on the fight. I see marciano nicking it on points 7 rounds to 5 because he will eventually figure out how to land on wilder's body as the fight progresses, but it could definitely go either way. If it goes 15 rounds, I see it ending on points still, with marciano grabbing hold of the fight late on. 9 rounds to 6 on points.

Marciano KOs Wilder like Tyson did to some of those big *******s he faced. He hits them and then they crumple to the canvas.

Wilder stops Marciano easily, extremely easily
(can't believe I actually said that)

C'mon guys, a 5'10 180 lb HW is gonna get
    obliterated.

I weigh around 200lb! That means I could obliterate Lomachenko!!!!!

    ....

    :nonono

I favour the skilled superheavies over Marciano. Wilder has too many holes in his game to fall into that category.

You got some crazy conspiracy theories.

You ever seen a Marciano fight? Those guys fought until they almost died in the ring.

If you fix a fight, you don't fight until you almost die.

    Where is your evidence?

I mean, this is just blatant ignorance and disrespect for all the wars those guys went through.

I'll let you know after I see Wilder in with a live ranked prospect.

Till then, I'm leaning towards Rocky.

I'd favor the vast majority of modern SHWs over Marciano...........not over all of the older HWs
    but definitely over Marciano

I know that. I bask in the glory of ignorance from time to time as a form of therapy. It' truly bliss.
Then I look at my mortgage and snap out of it. This is my little reality vacation at this site. I certainly don't come here to learn about boxing.
