Ninos prime came either side of losing to Archie Moore who Charles beat. Then he lost to Satterfeild who Charles beat. Nino had already lost to Gilliam who Charles beat. In fact Charles fought Gillium right after he beat Nino and beat him. Everything about Nino Valdes beating Charles points to a dip in form, an underestimation of opposition on the part of Charles. At the time Charles lost to Valdes ezzard held wins over each heavyweight who ever beat him. Valdes didn't rematch him. Charles beat Layne in a rematch and he beat Elmer Ray in a rematch. Even AFTER losing to Marciano Charles beat guys in a rematch who beat him past his prime like Toxie Hall and big John Holman who in size was the equivalent of Valdes. There really isn't much evidence Valdes could have won a rematch with Charles is there?
