You would have had two of the top 10 fastest hard hitting heavyweight in history. One of the best heavyweights IMO to never win a title, the great contender Cleveland Williams against the all time great heavyweight Mike Tyson.

A bigger, harder puncher and stronger man with a very big reach advantage against another fighter who was faster, better foundamentally with a much stronger chin.

I think it would come down to Tyson's withstanding The big cat’s incredible power early on, with kid dynamite also having quite a punch, which would be more dangerous.
A brutal, but exciting battle for sure.

Do you think Williams stop Mike before Mike got to him? Could He have taken out Tyson with a great shot on the way in ?

Or do you believe we would see Cleveland giving him serious trouble in the early rounds, like the first Bruno fight, with Tyson taking control of the fight in the late rounds and crack Williams' egg in short order?

Tyson would be to fast in the start to give Williams a break, Williams was broken by punchers like Liston, unless Williams catches Tyson flush on the chin early it’s going to be a short night for Williams. Tyson KO1.

Tyson KO2 or 3. Williams may hurt or stun Tyson but his lack of survival skills will hurt him. Will be an exciting slugfest while it lasts.

This would be such a sad spectacle to watch. Hopefully Tyson would respectfully decline such a mismatch.

I think Williams had the snap and the power to hang with Tyson. That said ...

Unfortunately his defence is nowhere on the same level and neither is his chin.

When Liston turned up the heat Williams folded and I think Tyson is an even worse style match for Williams than Liston. Liston tried the jabbing game and landing from range, whereas Tyson will jink his way in and go for a tear up at a range that Williams won't like. Moreover Tyson always had a solid beard, so Williams is going to need more than just a lucky punch.

Thos doesn't end well for Williams.

Agreed. Only mismatch harder to watch would be a Tyson-Marciano bout ;)

I think Marciano would not do well in some H2H matchups, but i certainly think he could beat someone Who doesn't have anything to keep him off of him and would get beaten up if goes on the inside with Rocky....someone like holyfield.

But yeah, Mike Tyson, a bigger puncher, could hit him coming in due to his slightly greater reach and wears him down with his volume punching.
Oh and i used to flatly say Rocky, on Pedigree, should be strongly favored over someone like Cleveland williams.
But when i think about, style wise Williams is almost all wrong for the rock.
He is bigger, stronger, much faster with 13 inch reach advantage.
Adding the fact rocky wasn't excellent in slipping and ducking punches, i think the big cat would easily find him and hit him with some brutal shot.

Yeah I used to favor Rocky over Williams because "49-0 lolz" but I agree style wise Williams is all wrong for Marciano. As you stated, he's bigger (by about 30 pounds) stronger, more powerful. MUCH faster, has a 13 inch reach advantage, is a much better boxer, and a harder puncher. Yeah call me crazy, but my money's not going on Rocky here.

He also took 2 rounds off Liston.... I'm not even sure Marciano would last 2 rounds with Liston.

I can’t think of any good reason to favor Williams.

What has this thread got to do with Marciano?

and this has to do with Williams somehow?

there’s no stopping you is there?

it is an obsession isn’t it?
