Who do you have winning this one? Skill, speed, balance, defense go to the young champ Patterson, while Length, reach, and power go to Wilder. We don't know where Wilder's heart is since he hadn't been properly tested by a legit contender but we'll go with Patterson here. Both have very poor chins. Is this a case of who lands first or will someone's skill overcome another's?
This is a fight Wilder can't lose. His hook jab from 6 feet out would be enough to put Patterson on qu33r st. And one R hand and it's lights out Floyd. Lets be real here.....Patterson would not survive 3 rds with Caveman Huck at 37 or Ledbedev, much less a guy putting that much torque into a R hand.
I think he'd be too intimidated to get inside. Remember the fear in his eyes staring down Liston. Wilder would have him seriously shook and looking to slip and counter, while Wilder would box smart as he did v Stiverne and just drill Floyd from outside until he landed the middling R hand that put Floyd to sleep.
Floyd Patterson was a very small heavyweight. He was a better boxer than Liston, but just too small to have a chance against him. Sizewise, he looked like a child in the ring against Ali. That said, he KTFO's Wilder into bolivian by leaping left hook.
Wow....Im not Wilders biggest fan, but I am a boxing fan, and I know the Wilder hate runs almost as deep as the nostalgia ignorance, but SERIOUSLY PPL
