Mike had what I mentioned earlier was like a heavyweight Spinks jinx. Just look what happened to Tate and Williams.

I get the feeling if Mike could just have been a little more consistent would have won the title more than once.

Weaver is more resilient and durable. Power is pretty equal. Hercules carried his punch for 15 rounds. I like his chances to score a knockout.

I go with Weaver, I know Williams gave Liston a very hard time in 2 bouts but he lost them both, maybe I'm just not familiar enough with him, I know he lost to Ali, lost to George Chuvalo, plus Weaver always impressed me from having a 6-6 record at one time to winning the WBA belt.

Williams of 1960 was 4 years away from being wounded by a Texas trooper before his proposed WBA heavyweight title fight with Ernie Terrell. The fight with George Chuvalo took place in 1971, as an under card to the Ali vs Mathis fight in Houston. Mike was a terrific puncher with a lot of stamina, who knows. Good fight.

I can see William s rocking weaver early in the fight, then Mike striking back and stopping him.
    Weaver by 5 rounds KO.

I think this is around how the fight would go, I think it's 50/50 whether Weaver survives early

Cleveland broke Sonny Liston's nose in their 1959 fight, then suffered a knockout loss to Sonny. Weaver had some pretty devastating power, remember the late John Tate title winning knockout win. He also injured the prime Larry Holmes ear, from a devastating punch. Training habits costs Mike his title and career. The fight could go either way, but both will knock the other down. This would resemble Foreman vs Lyle, in 1976. Mike would survive this nightmare to stop Big Cat Williams in round 6.

Toss a coin. The slow starting Weaver may or may not survive the early rounds. If he does he's looking good.
