Bowe got up from the left hook that Holyfield dropped him with. If Frazier would have landed it, Bowe would have needed a stretcher to get back to the dressing room.

It a guess not a judgement.
I did a lot of judging, different thing altogether. Ever hear of Axel Schulz or Ray Mercer?
As a "Judge" do you think Axel was better than Eddie Machen?
Was Bonavena better than Mercer? Possibly but Larry whupped Ray and his style mimicked Ringo's.

Let's put the 90's guys in their prime back to the 60's and the 60's guys in their prime forward to the 90's. Include all the differences in decades.
    Come on, more 'era' crap.

Would an old Archie Moore, with wins over Besmanoff, Radmacher and a draw with Pastrano be good enough to sneak into the 60s team? Might make an interesting battle with Foreman to see just which heavyweight aged the best. I think i would favour Foreman, though.

Sweet post:good, Agreed on all fronts, Tyson was all 80's , by the 90's the head movement , footwork, bodywork, stamina, was all history, the Klit bros didn't really come on big till after 2001, and in the 90's a lot of the top guy's were scared to fight each other, Bowe was scared shitless of Lewis..

The 60's guy's were obviously smaller but just as good, especially when you had the greatest on your team, ALI and back in those days you needed to have more mettle BECAUSE YOU WERE GOING 15 NOT 12, those last 3 rounds separated the men form the boys...

Thanks. For a minute I thought it was going to be ignored.

I like your 12 round versus 15 round comment. 15 rounds are the championship rounds. Guys today cruise through twelve rounds of light jabbing and four or five right hands a round. Back then they were going to war each round, hunting each other, looking not just to win a ABC title but to be understood and everyones worse nightmare.

In the 90's people viewed Lennox a wuss that drank tea and played chess. We all wanted Iron Mike in there breaking heads. We had hope for Bowe but he was soft-minded and it showed. Tyson was off his rocker without the boxing skills and Big George was a breath of fresh air because he was fun to hear from and he showed much heart in his old age. Holyfield was good but I was surprized and disappointed when he beat Tyson.

Basically, all of the 90's fighter fought in the shadow of Tyson and none of them really achieved the fame he did in the 80's because none of them dominated. Lennox was not viewed a dominate until after he retired. Back then he was a irrating belt holder who was diffinately a force and proved it by the time his career was up, but not really looked at like...this guy is one of the greatest to ever do it.
