I have seen the quote and it mentions nothing about his feet only. Put in full context if you must.

Tyson, Patterson and Taylor had average foot speed? Um no. You don't know what your watching. That's almost as good your belief that Marciano lacked one punch power.:lol::lol:

The Jeffries vs Sharkey film runs slow, but if you watch it closely Jeffries showed good footwork vs Sharkey when he wanted to move.

50+ years of hindsight does give the list an interesting spin. I am not going to be too critical just in case this forum is still available in 2070, and someone looks at our takes...

Race wasn't involved so lets not go there, Johnson is their top pick and Louis is about where Fleisher had him also. Charles and Walcott are seldom thought of high up on all time lists. Its a good assumption the scribes were middle aged which seems the norm in the industry.

Digitizing and "cleaning up" old fight films, plus instant replay & stop action, has helped more fairly evaluate old-time fighters in comparison to the so-called "modern" fighters. But it still just a "opinion" who would win head-to-head...if such fantasy fights actually occurred.

I don't think so. the internet has made every fight of the ali-holmes-Tyson eras widely available and easily viewed. I think the rankings in the future will be more accurate than they have in the past.
