Was any heavyweight as vulnerable to cuts as Cooper? If he was fighting today could anything be done today to improve his skin so he didn't bleed as much?

It’s funny seeing early Tyson wearing white shorts and boots and socks.

Henry once said if he saw Liston coming towards him on the street, he'd cross the street and continue walking on the other side.

cooperman got lucky dropping ali cos he was clowning, ali finished it seconds later once he had stopped doing that.

Cooper was eurolevel, nothing more. If ali hadnt clowned, enry would have been stopped in a 3 round bloodbath.

You might as well ask how many sub 190 pound fighters would beat Tyson.

The way Cooper cuts his whole head would explode in a bright red fountain of blood the first time Tyson lands.

I'd favor Dempsey to pull it off.

Although Ali did a bit of 'clowning', I don't see his style in previous fights any different than his showing against Cooper. Interesting that Henry came out the aggressor in the 1st fight, landing often and bloodied Ali's nose. Ali took the next two and was dropped in the 4th so Cooper was technically ahead in the fight when round 5 began. And although Zora F. got Henry in their rematch, "eurolevel" Cooper beat Folley in '58 with an aggressive performance. Some have called that fight a 'scam' as evidenced by the ref raising Henry's hand immediately after the bell. I believe the ref was the excellent Harry Gibbs who scored the fight. He had the first nine rounds scored in his pocket and only needed to see the results of the 10th to make a decision and Cooper had a strong last round taking it to Folley throughout. But I agree; he had no chance against Tyson.

this means nothing in the knowledge that he was clowning and once not clowning, stopped it in seconds.

since u knew this, why did you write an invalid point?

cooper was top ten, i didnt mean to say he wasnt a world contender.

Now you just stop it HG! :)
Since he 'clowned' before and 'clowned' a bit against Cooper doesn't (necessarily) make my point invalid.
He clowned a bit against Doug Jones; would he have had Jones out inside of three if he didn't?
IMO if Cooper had fought Jones and landed a clean LH, Doug may have went to la-la land.
If he had been all 'business' against Cooper then Henry would have been out within three?
Cooper clearly won the first round (Ali didn't have much chance to clown then) tho he did cut Cooper in round 2 or 3. Perhaps his dancing/and 'clowning' in rounds 2-3 was a partial result of staying on his toes, dancing, 'clowning' knowing that he hesitated going after Cooper directly because of that one LH he had in his arsenal.
"...since you knew this...", OK, I'll give you the leeway there.
Glad you conceded that Henry was world class. A dangerous puncher and Ali knew that.
    Always enjoy your posts!!
