Not sure I understand you here. Ali "did" not stop Jones; close fight, many thought Jones won, myself EXcluded.
If Ali had come out, round two, against Cooper, maybe you're correct. But he did fear the left hook and fought the way, perhaps, that he thought he should. The bottom line, IMO, is that Ali 'learned' from the Jones/Cooper fights to stop screwing around. I guess I agree/disagree with your assessment.

    Agree to disagree Herol...:)
I brought Doug into the discussion because it was his fight prior to Cooper; his camp was ready to start throwing "The Greatest' in against 'contenders'. I thought 'Clay' won a close one against Jones; he underestimated Cooper.
Many thought Jones did enough to beat 'Clay', I didn't. How did you score the Clay-Jones fight.

Mike Tyson would have not played with Henry Cooper as Cassius Clay did before he was dropped by Henry cooper on June 18 1963, Cus D Amato would have told Mike to end it quick. If Ingo kayoed Henry in 1956, I do not see any reason why Tyson could not do the same to Henry. I really enjoyed watching Henry, but he has no chance against Mike, KO 1.
