1964-67 Ali vs Prime Tyson's opposition

Id say he pretty much runs through them, however Bruno may give him a few problems. Maybe Spinks wins a few rounds on him.

 

Douglas and Tucker would be the most difficult, you'd think, but Ali never seemed too bothered with the classic boxer type. Berbick and Bruno were too slow.

Perhaps Spinks awkwardness would confuse him a bit.

 

I agree that Ali beats them all but overall will find this group a tougher challenge than those he faced in '64-'67.

 

Don't know if I agree. Yes, Tyson's opponents were bigger and more powerful, while retaining a lot of skill. But that the fighters Ali fought that were most similar to the 80's bunch (Liston, Lyle and Foreman to Berbick, Smith and Bruno - Terrell and Bugner to Tucker, Williams, Biggs and Douglas - Mathis to Tubbs) seemed pretty easy for him to solve stylistically. Those that gave him most trouble in relation to their quality were pressure fighters with a high activity level and often a bit of an awkward style - like Jones, Mildenberger and Norton.

 

Who knows? Ali always had the physical advantage in the 60s against smaller, older, slower, and weaker men. With the group above Ali loses his height/length, strength advantage against Smith, Tucker, Holmes, Tubbs, Williams, Bruno, and Douglas. Ali probably wouldn't look nearly as fast in the ring with these big, athletic fighters either. Tubbs, Williams, and Tucker are all extremely quick too. Ali might beat them and he might not, beating the version of Cleveland Williams he fought and the tall, thin Terrell doesn't tell us much about how Ali would do against other big, fast boxers. Having to fight them one after the other makes it even tougher.

 

What you say is true and because he handled the bigger and skilled men of the '70 successfully is largely why I believe he beats all of Tyson's opponents. I am saying that Tyson's opponents, with their size, power, and skill would have given Ali more competition overall than Liston, Patterson, Chuvalo, Cooper, London, Mildenberger, Williams, Terrell, and Folley did. While Ali's '60s opponents were the best around, many of them were smaller, older men past their best who did not figure to give Ali much trouble.

 

I'd say he defeat s em all,but a couple give him a decent fight. Tucker could be awkward. I don't see Ali knocking out Carl the truth as fast as Tyson. Spink s could provide a few Interesting rounds. Bruno fare's slightly better but still ends up stopped on the rope's.
Buster v Ali could be a even fight for a while but I see Ali winning on point s .

 

Ali beats all of them.

I think he would have alot of trouble with Michael spinks due to his awkwardness.

And if buster Douglass came at ali like he did Tyson I think he would actually beat Ali by u.d. after knocking him down once in the fight.
