Wilder might actually be the worst boxer to ever win a title. He's probably got more KOs than rounds won. Possessing one punch and relying on a knockout which is essentially a hailmary is the absolute worst way to fight against Muhammad Ali. This man made a career of beating the biggest punchers ever, did nobody learn anything from that?

Wilder gets embarrassed, stopped and then gives a hilarious post fight excuse about how gravity effects him differently or something.

There are posters that actually believe all it takes to beat Ali is to be bigger than him, yet he's 5-0, 6-0 against boxers bigger than him.

Its not even worth a debate.

The whole Cooper/Banks argument is absurd. We are talking about 1964 Ali here who had matured. If Ali was the same fighter in 64 than he was when he fought Cooper and Banks, Liston would have stopped him. And he obviously didn't.

Ali destroys Wilder. Wilder wouldn't win a single minute of any round.

    Ali wins as he pleases.

He does literally everything better than Wilder and has the chin to take anything Wilder throws.

    Watching Ali going forwards I don’t think that’s a strong positive outcome…

Brilliant post, I agree Grey. John Garfield actually said he didn’t think Ali would mature into a heavyweight, that guys like De John and Williams would kill him… Wilder was what he was but the way you’ve wrote this all out DC

It’s nice to read the speculation though, personally I’d love to and did enjoy reading what @Dubblechin wrote instead of “Ali UD” x 25 across 4-5 pages lol.

    For who?

I see it looking like Ali's demolition of Big Cat Williams. Cleveland wasn't top drawer and slightly past it when he fought Ali but he was a more well rounded fighter than Wilder and could bang too.

I think 70s Ali would fare better here. He actually had a high guard and could fight on the front-foot with a good counter-right over the jab and measured combinations. 60s Ali on the other hand strictly fought on the back-foot and leaned back too much.

Still, theres a massive gulf in talent here, Ali would find a way after taking some bombs and potentially walking off of a knockdown.
