1964 Ring Magazine- No credit to Ali after beating Liston

Fleischer did not hate Ali. Remember that the Ring could have easily went along with everyone else and stripped Ali, at least in print, of his title. Fleischer did the right thing and maintained Ali as champion until he retired in 1970. Concerning this fight.....there was nothing about this bout that is fishy. Liston the old worn champion was out sped and outfought by the up and coming all time great. Liston could not catch Ali, his cheekbone was slashed, nose and eye orbital broken and based on all evidence his shoulder was damaged. Liston was in uncharted waters, beaten and exhausted....so he quit. Why tarnish a great victory by all this ridiculously false distorted information?
