Watching Ali vs Patterson 1 and it got me to thinking, how would 23 year old Ali fare against a giant of tomorrow in Anthony Joshua?
Ali UD’s him but it’s more competitive then the forum will allow, Ernie Terrell took Ali the distance (Ali denied that he kept the fight going to “punish” him…) Cooper dropped him, Doug Jones did great and his stiffest contest in the 60s was a slow HW who might’ve been like 38 or whatever. AJ looks alright for 6 rounds, the fire fades and eventually Ali is just pot shotting him with rights till either he beats him into submission (if he had the power I don’t know…) or wins a decision over a basically defenceless Joshua whose trying to just survive and does so by virtue of being the size of a bull.
I made a thread not too long ago asking if AJ would do better against Ali then Lyle most believed so if I remember properly… I don’t think it’s a stretch to say he looks better then Chuvalo, Cooper or Banks right? at one time AJ was the best HW in the world and is a lot more competent then he’s been reduced to by the peanut gallery.
