How do you think Joe would do against the other fifteen from '67 to '68? I'm interested to know.

oh Frazier would have been favored against them all. probably stop them all cept Oscar, Durham did not like the headshots Frazier took at that time, for a tournament of that nature. he would have to fight 3 contenders back to back to back

Liston would have been interesting, Frazier-Kirkman or even Blue Lewis, be okay. Clark good boxer no punch, Chuvalo may be out at the outset but who knows with Granite George, Corletti, Ramos overrated but career's were in the right direction. Cooper may pull off an initial win

Considering that Joe beat the winner and runner-up, I don't think he'd have a problem.

Other fighters around the rankings at the time the tournament started who might be included in a 16-man tourney: George Chuvalo, Zora Folley, Manuel Ramos, Sonny Liston, Eduardo Corletti, Johnny Persol, Henry Cooper, Bill McMurray, and Amos Lincoln. Frazier already had the win over Chuvalo, probably the toughest of this group, and would beat Manuel Ramos soon. I don't see Frazier having any difficulties.

Mathis and Zyglewicz appeared in the ratings after the tournament was well underway, and of course Frazier later got wins over them too.

Yes Frazier actually won his version of the World Title, before Jimmy Ellis won his. Very well mightve been FRAZIER VS QUARRY. in the finals had "Smokin" Joe participated in the 8 man tournament, course it would have been how the brackets broke down.

I might go with Ramos, Corletti, Cooper, Liston, Kirkman, Mathis, Clark, and Chuvalo. as they other 8. 16 man tournament/ 15 bouts. (Considering it was after Folley & Persol defeats.)
