I wouldn't say that Wlad is talentless, but Muhammad Ali is clearly in a much higher class of fighters.

His biggest talent is that he is lucky enough to fight in an era of no load fighters. Can you imagine him fighting the heavyweights of the 60's and 70's?

I like the old Wlad from the mercer fight so much better.

He used to put together combinations, hook of the jab, and wasnt scared of getting hit.

This wlad could beat Ali, he could do it.

The current Wlad who jabs for 5 rounds without throwing a hook or right hand is ****ing boring. I could see him dropping those rounds to Ali and then what happens in the late rounds? Not sure but Wlad just doesnt seem active enought today to beat Ali, he is too gunshy and not willing enought to throw unless he is certain he can land it. And with Ali, you can never be certain of landing it, you got to take chances.

Muhammad Ali didn't have a great chin, he had an all-time great chin. He took on several huge hitters including; Liston x2, Foreman, Frazier x3, Shavers, and Lyle and only hit the canvas once in all of those fights, which was from a monster left hook that he immediately got up after, even though it came in round 15. As far as the heavyweight division, only a few others have a case for a better chin than Ali. Chuvalo, Jeffries, Toney, and McCall.

I see this fight being easy for Ali. Everyone is quick to go on about Wlad's size, reach, and his undeniable skill that he brings to the table in every fight he's ever been in. However, Ali will hit him very often due to Ali's advantages in speed, footwork, and staminia. Wlad does not have the one punch knockout power to stop Ali with one shot, and I honestly don't see Wlad hitting him enough times to win. Ali will be working hard for every second in every round, and given Wlad's history of getting tired in fights, he wouldn't be able to win on points. He'd slowly tire, and get stopped in about 10th round.

Great post selfkill, my feelings exactly. I see Ali toying with Wlad alot in this fight, and circling him shooting out the jab, I see Wlad trying to time the right hand all night, conecting on a few occasions, but also being countered as well. As you pointed out, Wlads a big man with stamina issues and is also a mentally weak fighter compared to Ali, if things arent going right for him, 9 times out of 10 he falls apart. Look for Ali to give up a couple rounds just to make Wlad tire a bit, if this is a 15 round fight, I would bet everything I have Wlad doesnt go the distance, if it's a 12 rounder, I still see Wlad tiring and being caught in the championship rounds.

Does anyone remmber the Ali Joe Bugner Fight? I do. Bugner 6'4" guick hands and it was a very good fight Ali had to fight inside against Bugner he did not dance around. Ali definately had the ability to take punches because he got hit. Vlad is very athletic and quick on his feet he would not paw at Ali like he does slower fighters. He has a very good mind for strategy and he has a very good man in his corner. this would be a very good fight I have no idea who would win I do not recall Ali ever fighting someone with the Power of foreman and the boxing ability of a Patterson.

Vlad's too big and he is very quick, could out jab Ali, but his power would be devastating. Vlad is extremely underrated.

Ali would win in a 15 round fight, Klitschko would probably win in a 12 rounder.

I'll tell what is senseless is all this Wlad nuthugging? I mean be honest what has he done? Who has he beaten? This may the weakest era of heavyweights in boxing history? To compare him to Ali, Marciano, Louis, Dempsey, Tyson, Liston, Holmes, or Foreman is a joke.

I think he'd still be successful, just not the best of the period. I could see Wlad beating men like Earnie Terrell, Jimmy Ellis, Jerry Quarry, George Chuvalo, Buster Mathis, Ken Norton, Earnie Shavers and maybe a few others. Ali, Foreman, and possibly Frazier are the only ones that I'd place him as an underdog against anytime between 1966-1974.

Ali Would land 3 before Vlad would react to 1..
Ali Had the Chin To take Vlad's best, But I can't say The same for Vlad.

    I Got Ali By 10th Rd T.K.O.

I would give him a slight edge over Mathis. Even money with Ellis, Chuvalo, and the late 60's Patterson (he'd be a KO loser to 50's version). UD loser to Terrell, and KO loser to Quarry, Norton (remember the Duane Bobick fight?) and especially Earnie Shavers. I also think the Gerry Cooney that KO'ed Ryle Lyle and Norton would have killed Wlad. Holmes easy winner, probably a late TKO, Prime Tyson easy early KO. Prime Hoyfield late KO, or UD winner. Micheal Spinks easy UD. Roy Jones at 190, close fight hard to say. Jimmy Young easy UD. Prime Bowe easy KO winner.

I have nothing personnally aganist him, but what I see in Wliad is the same thing I always have seen. A big slow, stand up straight guy. Decent punch, weak chin, and very boring to watch. No head movement, and his best defense is his long reach and height/wgt. Vastly overrated. Even considering the weak crop of heavyweights around now. Doesn't make my top 20 list.
