How do you guys think this fight goes down? The version of Liston who beat Wepner in his last fight, versus the current version of Derek Chrisora?
I am thinking if Chisora tried his prefight games with Liston, that Chisora would not even make it into the squared circle. Despite being the older fighter, i still see Liston messing Chisora up quite badly. A pretend bad ass Chisora, meeting a real bad ass in Liston.
That he presents himself as a badass, which IMHO he frankly isn't, wheras Liston was. I am sure you are aware of Listons crime sheet, his 'connections' etc etc. Even the POTUS and Dempsey viewed Liston as such, speaking out against Liston being allowed to fight Patterson for the title.
I believe the worst Liston completely annihilates the best Chisora. No offence to Chisora. Just a huge gulf in class. In the timeframe you propose, that jab would just destroy him, I think. Liston in four.
There'd be a major size disparity.the brave,tough yet moderate punching chisora would come in at 248 and by his standards in some kind of shape. Doesnt matter. Liston knocks him out in 3 . Sonny had a jab and power chisora hasnt tasted
The older version of Liston may struggle a few rounds. I see a later round stoppage with chis Busted up, but Sonny not at his best here.
