I'm actually not sure about this one. I love Frazier (have him 2-1 over Ali) and I always though of Fury as a big doofus, but the doofus has surprised me a couple of times and the size and weight difference is so damn huge. Quality wise in their time there's just no comparison of course, but let's face it, if Fury fought a guy with the same height, weight, skillset, power as Frazier now he would be ridiculed for fighting yet another (not even blown up) cruiser. And completely written of if he'd lose the fight. In greatness Frazier will always be miles ahead of Fury, because seriously if Fury catches one of the belts in the near future he's not one to hold on for it to long facing serious challengers. But head to head I just think the enormous size difference might win it for Fury, although he might also be out inside a single round.
It's shocking one have to excuse himself in order for trying to make a point against Frazier. I'm not racist or a denier of our history but i think Joe would be to small to connect his left hook on Fury's chin. And if he did, it would lose power because of the bad angle. But if we take this scenario: Fury is sitting on a chair with his arms hanging down, then yes of course would Frazier been able to knock him down and out! But boxing is way more than just someones power punch vs another ones chin. Fuys natural air superiority would give him his best defence in this missmatch...
Frazier batters his body and takes him out. He'd have to work, but he'd get it done. The '71 Frazier was awesome.
Just look at the size difference... 'Fury wins because he is bigger.' And that is all you get, this ladies and gentleman is the moronic and puerile level of debate you get on here.
There's bigger and there's the relative size and weight difference between a top class Flyweight and a good Super Welter.
fury loses by self ko before frazier does anything. purely thru intimidation that is, he took one look at frazier and shaat himself and went for the self ko for an easy way out of having to figth him.
There are also skills, look at the size advantage Valuev had over fat, little Chagaev, former cruiserweight Haye and shot Holyfield, yet all three beat him (Holyfield getting robbed). Do people really think Frazier, an Olympic gold medalist and the first man to beat Ali, couldn't get past Fury's jab and work from the inside to take away his height?
safe to say, size advantage has a ceiling, or else Andre the giant would have been undisputed HW champ in the 70s.
