Where is your song for the other guy who promoted suicide, murder, and homophobia? You support dago wop and what he said?
We don't need to get into this all over again, but this is a small sample of what I was referring yesterday with my comments. Now, some of these are directed at Chok, and not Dago, but again there are still personal insults mixed in. Sure, not to the level of Dago, but insults none the less. What is crossing the line to one might not be to another. Which was my entire point yesterday. These two and exchanged insults in other threads, and this was just building. Doesn't make his comment okay, but let's not also pretend it was out of left-field and no attacks came his way at all. It's like I said, sometimes if you lay with dogs, you end up with fleas. In the end he was banned, and it was likely a good thing for the forum he was.
Theres no forgiving a man who wishes a Police officer to get shot!!!! What if your Father Son or Daughter was an officer! Would you be so forgiving??? No theres mo excuse for it. BAN THIS GARBAGE FOR LIFE
kubrat Pulev, I’ve said for years Choke has an agenda that he tries to hide and I do believe trolls at times. His comments about all modern heavyweights being on steroids is outrageous. But I have never once called for him to be banned because he is a genuinely nice guy who is civil. It’s a shame because I’m the biggest Marciano fan on this forum, and chokes unrealistic views of Marciano and his opposition often has me arguing against my favorite fighter I am a bit disappointed with how choke has reacted in this thread, supporting the other guy over me even after his latest comments. However, I can see how choke holds a grudge against me Hopefully we can all move on and this thread will turn back to boxing talk
Kubrat Pulev.... I like that LOL I don't think he supported the guy, just like I'm not supporting the guy or his comments. I think we both just think calling for a ban for insults isn't a good look when you're insulting others as well. I don't want to speak for him, but that is the jist of what I think he's saying, and frankly I don't know why you are surprised by his reaction. I posted quotes of you in this very thread calling him a troll and a clown, and he didn't insult you before or after it. So does it surprise you that you make those comments to him, and he'd then be confused how you could call for a ban of others for making insults? Surely, you can see why he responded the way he did. I certainly don't think he was taking the other guy's side or agreed with his comments. Again though, I don't want to speak for him. As you say, it's over now, and we can move forward. I doubt Dago will be back anytime soon if at all. Just call me Kubrat!!!
I knew you would get a kick out of that! Like I said before, it doesn’t surprise me that he didn’t support me because I have called him names and I think he brings down my favorite fighters name with his opinions, but what surprised me is choke still supported forgiving and reinstating dago wop after his disgraceful comments
I concur with Kurupt and Unforgiven. Lines are crossed all of the time around here. There is a lot of provocation. Some things are worse than others. I accept some people are very sensitive. Sometimes it’s about being honourable. If somebody disagrees with you then you don’t have a right to be offensive. You can be the bigger man and set the better example by not biting. I just think being rude makes somebody look kind of juvenile. But maybe I am old school. I’ve learned not to hold grudges. When somebody gets offensive they have lost the argument. It usually means they have hit a wall or been pushed too far or provoked too far. I do think people deserve a chance to learn from their mistakes.
Would I get more angry If my father or son or daughter was in the police than if somebody said they wished somebody got shot in a career they actually have? I think everyone recognises the services and what things would be like with no laws. I don’t support anything foolish that is said on here. People say foolish things on here. For foolish reasons. I was raised to forgive. And I have seen horrible things happen. I’m wary of things. I’m aware of the difference between saying something foolish and seeing something happen that is evil. And I know what is worse. Do people really mean what they say on line? I’d rather people didn’t say foolish things. For saying something foolish people should pay the price then learn from their lessons.
I will never agree with you on this. The man said he wanted a Cop to catch a bullet among other things. UNFORGIVABLE!
It was a stupid comment to make, and there's a clear line to be drawn between questioning someone's boxing acumen and wishing violence upon them or slinging baseless insults. I personally don't get how you get to the point where one would take that route. I personally get irritated when people trash many of the all time greats in debate, but I'd never think of turning it personal. And that stuff's hardly contained to this thread. Every time Black Hercules comes back to this site, he starts going off in that direction, and there's a number of long timers who have little patience for each other here, to put it mildly. There's such a wealth of knowledge here, I hate seeing it wasted on the ad hominem idiocy. Now, getting back to the discussion at hand, I just don't see Dempsey beating '73 Foreman. Foreman would take his best shot and deliver worse in return, in my opinion, and that's coming from someone who would often take Dempsey over a number of latter day fighters he'd generally not be favored over around here. I'd be more interested in seeing '94 Foreman against Dempsey to see if his still-potent power could match Dempsey's ferocity. I'd say that one would be a much tougher one to call.
I'm not in favor of a lifetime ban either but let's be clear--he's not about to learn from his "mistakes." He has a bad temper and is willing to troll, lie, and attack people to win arguments. It's his m.o. It's a shame because he has a legitimate passion for the sport and has become fairly knowledgable, even if I usually disagree with him and find him to be disingenuous at times.
