1973 George Foreman vs 1919 Jack Dempsey

He was knocked out in a round by Flynn for one, and was floored numerous times against Firpo.

Then, I guess Dempsey wasn't much.

This. Dempsey is a very bad style matchup for Foreman. Dempsey would be rolling under most of Foreman’s punches and Dempsey had fast hands. Foreman gets badly beaten up against Dempsey. Joe Louis and Archie Moore were able to figure out Joe Frazier’s style easily and gave Foreman the proper tactics, but I don’t see this being as easy for a guy like Dempsey.

 

Agreed. Some have been here 8 years, and have yet to make a decent impartial post.

Foreman destroyed fighters who crouched and ducked like Dempsey. Foreman drops Dempsey several times leading him into uppercuts with hooks, just like his fight against Frazier

foreman has never fought a fighter like peak dempsey , Foreman is the one getting stopped here .

Foreman KO in 1-2 Rounds. Foreman ragdolls & pummels the wild, aggressive, but diminutive Dempsey. Foreman lines Dempsey up into his punching range at will & maneuvers Dempsey into position whenever he wants.
