Hindsight is always 20/20. We have a history to look back upon with Ali. We have a history with Foreman. We have no or little history with AJ. odds are he will not blossom into a great fighter but possibly he will. Time will tell.

I get what you're saying and from a historical POV, I'd definitely put George Foreman above Anthony Joshua. And as of right now, I think everyone should.

I just think that H2H is a different story. I just think that based on what I've seen so far of AJ, he'd be able to get the job done vs Foreman. But on the other hand, if we could by magic have the Foreman of the Norton fight fight AJ of the Klitchsko fight and Foreman won by KO, I wouldn't be surprised one bit. In fact, I wouldn't call it an upset. But I also would reasonably expect AJ to win based on the skills he's shown so far, his punching power and physical attributes like his size and reach.

I just happen to think I'm in the same company as the boxing fan in 1960 who thought Sonny Liston would beat a proven (arguably) ATG in Max Schmeling or the fan in 1967 who thought Muhammad Ali would beat a proven ATG in Jack Dempsey or Rocky Marciano or the guy in 1987 who swore to Jesus that Mike Tyson would beat a by thst time, proven ATG in Muhammad Ali.

    Disclaimer:

For the purposes of this thread I am taking no position on who would win between Tyson and Ali or Marciano and Ali. I know that can open up a whole new can of worms.

Only boxing amateurs give great status to a untested fighter. From experience you hopefully will gain insight.

Remember all the amateurs who believed Kovalev would beat Dempsey and Marciano.

You're doing a fine job explaining your points. Perry doesn't know how to reply properly without being sidetracked.

I agree I think Joshua is better then Lyle his athleticism is really what I see being his advantage I wouldn't say hes a harder puncher or more accurate. Regardless I still see the fight playing out similar to Lyle vs Foreman in a sense that it would be a back and forth brawl and I believe Foreman would be the last one standing.

Joe Frazier would beat the living shitz outta Bowe or Wlad, Bowe would be around a lot longer for his beating. Wlad fights at a snails pace , Joe wears him out with pressure and would chop him to pieces.

Lyle hit hard but AJ to me appears to hit hardee and quicker. Foreman could win its not far fetched at all. I'll be the first to admit that Foreman could indeed stop AJ. I just think Foremans defense would have him taking too many wide open shots and I'm not sure that Foreman could stop AJ before he (Foreman) tires and loses power.

Jimmy Young mentioned that at the halfway point of the fight, he noticed that Foremans shots weren't as hard and thats when Young started to get more aggressive with Foreman.

With Wlad, I think it would come down to how aggressive Wlad is vs Fraizer and how effectively he utilizes the uppercut. If he's aggressive and effective with the uppercut, I pick Wlad to beat Fraizer soundly. Wlad had the tools its a question of how he puts them to use.

Bowe would be aggressive and had very good uppercuts on the inside. And Fraizer didn't exactly have Holyfield's chin. I'd comfortably pick Bowe to stop Fraizer. I'd definitely pick Bowe to stop a 73 Fraizer who was overweight, overconfident and undertrained.

Bowe couldn't keep Holyfield off him and Joe hits WAY HARDER than Evander. When was the last time you saw Wlad fight a fast paced fight for 15 rounds? or even 12?

Too early in AJ's career to make a proper judgment.

If I had to pick right now, I'd pick George inside the first four or five.

Joshua would likely land some shots.

Foreman had a decent defense, not a great one. He may have to show his chin in this fight.

You consider his defeat to Ali a slow paced performance? Wasn't he the aggressor?
