    Ali UD!

What about the absolute worst version of Mercer vs the worst version of Ali?

LOL, no. A good version of Mercer sends a bad version of Ali to the hospital. Mercer is way better than Berbick or Spinks. The best version of Ali against the best version or Mercer clowns him imho because Mercer never did too well against crafty boxer types.

Yes. 1974 32 year old Ali had all sorts of advantages over 1992 42 year old Holmes. Speed, physical conditioning and,at those ages, power.

I'm wondering what Mercer's left eye would look like after 10 or 12 rounds of eating Ali's right hands, closed I imagine.

1973-1974 Ali was a different kind of cat. He beat three IBHOF members and two consensus all time great heavyweights. For basketball fans it would be like Wilt going up against Chris Dudley.

Mercer would be slipping and ducking those right hands and countering

He wasn't slipping and ducking a one hundred and forty three year old Larry Holmes' rights and countering.

Well come to think of it I don’t know. That Ali was winning the title back from crappy George Foreman instead of fighting awesome dudes like Tim Anderson, Everett Martin and Eddie Gonzalez. Such a dilemma !!!

That’s for sure. Holmes was hitting him with literally everything he threw at him
