1970s WBA lightheavy champ, Mike "Jewish Bomber" Rossman, fought Christy Elliott twice in 1976. The bouts were high profile club matches, occurring before Rossman blossomed into a world rated contender. Elliott was a popular Irishman fighting out of New York. The first bout took place in Yankee Stadium, in September, 1976, on the undercard of Ali-Norton III. Rossman stopped Elliott in three rounds.
