Young's style is not to get KO'd.

If Foreman and Lyle couldn't knock him out, and Dokes and Cooney couldn't knock out the not-so-formidable version of Young, why do you think Joe Frazier could knock him out? with respect to Frazier's punching power

It's the relentless pressure. Youngs pace was too slow to deal with Joe's pressure
Joe was the greatest pressure/swarmer I ever saw. Just relentless.

Norton applied the same type of pressure and walked away with a razor-thin split decision (I realize Kenny doesn't hit quite as hard as Joe)

Nortons pressure couldnt hold a candle to prime Frazier. Watch the Ellis fights Quarry fights. Anything from the 60's up to FOTC.
2nd Quarry is a good one to watch too.

Frazier did not have the hardest left hook, what he had was the abilty to throw it all night ,to fire and reload and fire again incessantly . He would wear Young down imo, slow him to a walk and then its a very bad scenario for Jimmy .

If Bugner can survive Frazier, so can Young.

Frazier smokes him. Cute boxers against Frazier were easy money. Ezzard Charles or Young against Joe would be like a cat running from a pitbull

Yes! I was just rewatching the 2 Quarry fights. The first fight they showed a couple angles where the camera man was looking up when Joe had Jerry on the ropes and the way Joe was reloading that hook was better than any HW in history IMO
