I think Spinks wins, he's a little bit faster

Spinks, SD, his awkwardness is the key.

Spinks wins, it would be a boxing match and Spinks's awkward movement and speed and combinations would frustrate the conventional Young, there are very few that could outbox Spinks, you had to be aggressive and have strength, you couldn't box with him unless you were setting up a KO punch and Young isn't a puncher at all

I'd say Jimmy Young from the Ken Norton fight might actually beat michael spinks. He showed some good infighting, moreso than Holmes ever showed tbh but then again, Ken Norton is a lot more stationary, slow and robotic than Spinks.

If i were pushed I'd say Spinks wins a close UD

Neither had much punching power, but were very slick, it would be a very interesting fight. I can't choose a favorite, I feel it can go either way.

Anybody that watched this fight would most likely quit being a boxing fan.
Spinks was never a blood and guts fighter. At heavyweight, where his punching potential was less pronounced, he was a mover and a spoiler because he was less sure of himself. This was not apparent against Cooney or Tangstaad, but that is why he fought them; they were selected to make him look different than he really was. Could not sell a Tyson fight otherwise.
Against Jimmy Young he would have been uncertain. Making fighters uncertain was almost all of Young's game. Spinks would be smarter than just about any other guy Young fought but I reckon that Young could match him there.
And Jimmy Young fought like he was mortally afraid of getting hit.....
This fight would redefine the whole concept of "that fight sucked so bad that from now on I only watch roller derby."

I think Spinks movement would frustrate Young. He would force Jimmy to lead. Spinks by decision

To be fair Young was basically a shot fighter at that juncture losing to the likes of Pat Cuello

Prime Young had a great chin and loved it when guys came to him.

Tyson would probably prove to fast but I can envision Young Tying him up, countering and lasting late ito the fight
