Foreman didn't need to be mobile to catch him. So I see it in its proper context; They are in Kensaha. Humidity is out the wazoo. Can you see RJJ being the aggressor? I can't. I can't envision him being as dumb as Foreman was to out punch himself. His reflexes are better than George's agree? Ali isn't chasing him. But RJJ can dart in & out for what he does best: Pot Shoting.
The Ali that beat Liston? Williams? Stops RJJ. In RJJ's prime, because we now know he couldn't take a punch.
Jones wasn't all that at HW, he was being caught by John Ruiz. 74 Ali catches him and KOs him afterwards. 77 Ali would be good enough to beat him imo
77 Ali ?I'd say more than likely it's Jones taking a decision . But I'm not 100 % on that . Maybe Ali has just enough to beat him ,be the aggressor maybe more ,be more physical with Jones and use his experience to rough him up .If Ali's just laying back he's losing this .
Yeah hard to gauge a guy who chose to fight Ruiz a no others. Not sure how accurrate punchstats is, but has Ruiz @ 89 punches landed to Jones 134.
Roy would not be the house fighter nor the crowd favorite in this. And he would see===just like others had to===just how difficult it was to get a decision over Muhammad Ali back then.
