It's likely Holmes hits the deck at some point & get's up to score a late rounds stoppage. The only way Wilder can win is by K.Oing Holmes & I don't see that happening.

Holmes by Decision. But he’d definitely get tagged with some of those right hands and might even visit the canvas once or twice

How Holmes got up from that bomb, I'll never know.

Imagine Wilder putting on a boxing clinic against prime Holmes......

other than Tyson Wilder would be the hardest puncher Holmes faced - Earnie hit hard and hit Holmes hard but Earnie lacked stamina - Wilder has a strong right hand and faster delivery and longer range- Holmes avoided Cooneys hook but the right hand was the punch Holmes had trouble avoiding- I give Wilder a hell of a puncher's chance but if Holmes could get past getting hit and stay up the distance may favor him for the nod but wouldn't be easy for Holmes

Wholeheartedly agree. This isn't another softie defense like Evangelista.

And that is the 79 version. the 83 version is in big big trouble and not facing Scott Frank type guys.

I like Larry much better facing those face first opponents he has the big reach advantage over. Not a taller guy with a big right hand.

One of the interesting things about Holmes was that amatuer Bobick debacle. But if somehow Larry had won, he was getting Stevenson. That would have been a horrible ending and Holmes already had 2 devastating losses to Wells. So the dq loss definately helped things, in spite of the criticism at the time.
