Very nice observation on the fight.
Although while Swag mentioned Liston hurting Ali, he both said Liston had Ali out on his feet & paired that with Foreman.
Never mentioning Frazier.

 

It goes back to an earlier post in which 70sFan stated that Ali survived Frazier, Forman and Liston -

White Bomber quoted same and responded stating that Foreman and Liston didn’t catch Ali with power shots.

In his reply to White Bomber, I’m assuming Swag was simply holding 70sFan orig. quoted post in mind as it appeared above White Bomber’s reply - but 70sFan post didn’t get re-quoted when Swag quoted and replied to Bomber’s own post - which was in reply to 70sFan.

So “both” = Frazier and Foreman - as per the order of 70sFan’s orig. post.

Now Swag will come along and say he did mean Liston - undoing my sophisticated breakdown of the sequence of the discussion. LOL.

 

I recall that exchange. But recall that Swag wrote that Liston & Foreman had Ali out on his feet-& did not mention Frazier.
When we find that exchange that will show which of us might be right-or neither, & they were all only talking about the Cooper left hook-induced fog. ;-)

 

Swag actually said “both”, not Liston specifically - and as I said, the orig post to which Bomber responded actually referenced, in order, Frazier, Foreman and Liston. . So, by “both”, Swag meant the first two and then added that Liston clearly hurt Ali also. But you’re right, we could be well off the mark - it could be in reference to Cooper or even Sonny Banks. Ha.


Meanwhile, Swag is reading this shaking his head muttering “for God’s sake, move on guys”.

But we can’t, we’re pedantic so we’ll have to tell Swag to mind his business and stay out of it. LOL.

Anyway, as far as I’ve heard/read, Ali only claimed to be out in his feet v Joe and George - he didn’t say same re Liston.

Williams was decent. That’s about it. I won’t watch your video because the best Williams ever looks is in fights he gets ****ed up by Liston. There’s folly on rating a fighter off of their losses.
