Wilder's so called glass jaw is an exaggeration. So far he has proven he can take a big shot to the face and stand still on steady legs.

Ali takes Wilder ANYTIME before the Larry Holmes debacle. Even though the Parkinsons syndrome was affecting him BEFORE Ali - Frazier III In his prime NO HEAVYWEIGHT in History comes close to THE GREATEST !!!!!!!!!! R.I.P. My Hero

1980 Ali was awful iirc. Wilder would do something horrible to him. I'd pay to see a prime Ali lump Wilder up though :D

You think Im a Wilder fanboy???

    Im not even a fan:patsch

H-E-double hockeysticks......I hardly respect his boxing.

I am however, NOT a blind HATER like Shockmaster, or the notorious LD demographs.

That said, 1980 Ali couldnt slip the pathetic Berbick jab, and although he rarely showed anything less than a granite chin, he also began taking huge flush shots in Manila, something he was able to previous take the sting off with the shell off the ropes.

He'd be going full grand mal if he fought Wilder, writhing on the canvas worse than Liakovich was. :rofl:rofl

Had the OP opened the thread with past prime, but still viable (74-77) Ali, the answer would obviously be different. At least slightly.

One thing is certain though, there's no way Wilder would be fooled into thinking he could blast Ali right outta there.

Heck, Wilder doesnt even try to mow over the Molinas, Duhaupas', or Szpilkas anymore. :think

  10. Wilder would spark out clean that trouble maker.

    It's NOT an exaggeration.

His chin is STILL shiit, but he controls distance well simply by mixing in the odd hard hook, the lead R hand, and his telephone pole jab, albeit somewhat sloppy.

He doesnt take flush shots, b/c these fringe level contenders he's defending against don't want to be Liakoviched, so they play it safe and don't allow themselves to be cornered but at the same time, they don't go bombs away either.

Best to stretch the rds hoping the occasional hard body shot with inevitably make Wilder drop his hands in range for a counter over his jab.:rofl

    My God.....

How long have some of y'all been watching this sport?:patsch

Ali wouldn't even turn up to the weigh in or bout with Nichols. Nichols declared winner by default.

    Nichols wouldn't be IN murderers row;
    He would BE murderers row..
Ali would get ko'd badly;it's a miracle Wilder got by him!

This is dumb, no one in their right mind thinks Wilder can beat a prime Ali, but 1980 Ali (Trevor Berbick v Ali) version would get pummeled. What does this question prove?
