The Spinks that decisioned Holmes the first time vs. the Foreman who produced a spirited effort against a prime Holyfield. Who wins it?

Spinks certainly could have taken it, as OBC boxer has already chosen. But, there's something that tells me that a fully loaded Foreman might have been a tad more detrimental to Spinks than a complacent Holmes.

Could have gone either way, but I think I'll take George by mid to late round knockout..

I thought this was a 88 Spinks. Still Spinks can move maybe even better than Holyfield. But he isn't as durable and Foreman staggered Holyfield bad. Spinks goes... Foreman's got the eye of the tiger and will find him and Spinks won't handle it.

could go either way : spinks by decision , foreman by stoppage
    only a matter of luck.
out of enough fights between them you'd have seen each one win more than a quarter of the fights in his manner and the other the rest in his manner.

While I'm tempted to pick Spinks by a close points verdict I cannot help but think that Foreman's left jab would present great problems for him. His left jab wasn't MIA as was Holmes' left jab in the first Spinks encounter.

For me it comes down to the left jab of Foreman or the periodic mobility of Spinks. Which overcomes the other?

One of the better fantasy matchups.

    Hmmm.

The Jinx. Dangerous fight for him but 91 Foreman isn't the offensive force Tyson was. Tommy Morrison doesn't have a quarter of the skill or boxing ability of Spinks but was able to outmanuever and outbox him. His ability to take punishment is also probably no better than Spinks.

    I like Spinks by decision.

You could be right but consider that Foreman was much more mentally primed in '91 for a title shot, with everything to prove, than he was underestimating the thought-chinny Morrison who turned runner in mid-93. BTW - There was once a rumor - admittedly unsubstantiated, that Foreman had a 30% stake in Morrison circa the period they fought.

Spinks doesn't have the power to bother Foreman. More proof Foreman is underrated on ESB as this poll is going 9:3 with an unproven HW (Beat an aging and lazy Holmes. Stylistically that was a matchup he could win). Stylistically Spinks doesn't do well as a HW. Doesn't beat Holyfield of the late 80's, 92 Bowe, 91 Ruddock, or any of the great crop from the 90's. Foreman will find and finish him. 7th Round KO.

Spinks wins the closest decision in the hardest fight of his life over Foreman.

Got to go with Foreman KO. Spinks was walloped by Tyson and anytime Foreman would have caught him on the chin he would have been toast.
