In an alternate time line, Berbick and Lyle swap places in history. So Lyle fights in the 80s and wins a decision over Pinklon Thomas and becomes WBC heavyweight champion. Lyle's first defense is against the young up and coming challenger, Mike Tyson.

Does Tyson take him out quickly or does Lyle halt Tyson's rise?

Same result - Tyson by early KO.

It wasn't Berbick's heart that went. He was still trying to get up when the fight ended, he just couldn't.

Lyle was tough, but tough wouldn't be enough.

Tyson. Holyfield douglas and lewis were all quicker than tyson when he fought them. Its a crucial advantage, as well as being able to avoid taking more than 1 bomb at a time and being able to absorb that one bomb.

Lyle can maybe or maybe not take one good shot from tyson at a time but doesnt have the defense or legs to avoid the follow up combos. Nor does he have the quickness and range to beat tyson to the punch(douglas, lewis) or the craft to counter and time him(holyfield).
Lyle doesnt have better than tyson conditioning either, weve seen him fade and gas against ali where he was doing very well.

Yep ,Lyle tough son of a gun ,proved it against George. But I reckon Tyson stops him here quite fast .Lyle goes for it just as determined as Tyson but mike the faster one connect s first .I see a few kds coming early and Lyle desperate to recover and get back in to it .But the ref waving it over at around the 4 th round mark .

Tyson for me as well. I guess Lyle might catch him, and finish him early, because Lyle could really punch. But I wouldn't bet on it.

Tyson tears him up. Too fast, too sharp, too powerful. It ends early.

Mismatch of epic proportions. Lyle wouldn't stand a snowball's chance in the fifth circle of Hell against prime Tyson.

    Mike in 2 or 3.

Nobody is finishing a prime Tyson early. People really underestimate how good his chin was.

Lewis (a much bigger puncher than Lyle) couldn't even finish a completely shot Tyson early.

Yeah if Lyle caught Tyson with a great shot, he may momentarily wobble him like Smith did, but that's it IMO.

I'd favor Tyson, but watch the right hand Lyle first wobbled Foreman with. That punch could wobble an oak tree. Lyle is big, and strong compared to Mike. Harder fight than most here think, Lyle was better than Bonecrusher

I'd say a prime Foreman gets Mike outta there before the third round is over ,max. I thought, and so did Emanuel Stewart ,that Lewis could have stopped him earlier

It's arguable if Foreman even beats Tyson, let alone stops him inside of 3.

George is the worst match up for Tyson, Tyson ,a short hook throwin heavyweight is going to walk straight into George Foreman? George will grab him , shove him back, hammer him with that heavy jab, Tyson can't get inside and he's in punching range. Tyson can't fight backing up and Mike won't back up George, Foreman said when he was 39 years old that anyone who believes Tyson could beat him is insane, that Tyson wouldn't last 2 rounds. I'd have bet on George
