i know loads are going to fancy hearns big time. but hearns wasnt the same beast when he moved up around 87-88. still fancy him against all but he could get upset by one of the bangers in the group. froch may get lucky like barkley

Tommy was going life and death with Kinchen at the time, so I would take all six to stop him on that form...

That said, Tommy fought though shaky moments to beat the still world class Roldan, and of course gave Leonard hell. For two rounds he broke up Barkley, who was a legitimate top 5 160lber of the era.

Also a win that often goes unnoticed, is the fine performance against Andries, and although he was decked late on, that punch in the sixth very much was prime Motor City Cobra.

So the evidence suggests, that fighting the big challenges, Tommy was still very much a threat, the down side being, the fights you figure him to be a warm favourite (Ward/Dirrell/Taylor), maybe the one's he slips up on.

    My Picks:

Hearns off the floor WTKO14 Froch

    Kessler WU15 Hearns

Hearns WM15 King Arthur (providing it is not in Germany)

Hearns off the floor KO4 Taylor

Hearns off the floor KO3 Ward

Dirrell to cause the huge upset against the unmotivated Hitman (TKO10; Corner retirement)

kessler would be the most problematic
tommys best win above 154 IMO was against Virgill hill that fight was at 175, hill was a better all round fighter then any of those guys

Yes, he was but he was also no banger. Kessler, Froch and Abraham have more than enough power to take Hearns out. I take Kessler and Abraham to do this. Hearns against Taylor and Froch would be good fights until Hearns stops them. Dirrell can“t stop Hearns and he has not the skills to outbox him. Ward seems to have decent pop but lacks the experience to cope with Hearns.
