Floyd's always too high, he shouldn't rank over DLH, DLH fought and beat consistently better fighters than Floyd did.

 

DLH lost to that very man and Mayweather rose 5 weight classes to do it without ever looking a natural at anything above 140.

Mayweather's won every big fight he's been in.....ODLH the opposite.

 

And Mayweather has never fought a real elite fighter, Oscar's fought plenty of them, thus why the losses are in discussion. And please don't bring up a shot DLH vs. Floyd, he had no legs and was sloppy with very little speed.

Mayweather beat the men at 135, Castillo and Coralles, the latter he demolished. He KO'd the man at 140. He beat the former undisputed champion at WW in Judah, then he beat the man the undisputed (if they'd been put on the line) champion in Baldomir and then beat the man at 154 in ODLH.

Now he needs to beat Cotto and retire.

Where are the ELITE fighters in this mix? Elite, meaning top skill and ability of the sport without serious drawbacks.

It's not true PBF will always be remembered as a better fighter than Oscar period. He's 1-0 against him about to be 2-0, he's undefeated has won 90% of his fights with ease and is a great H2H fighter. How do you have Naseem Hamed and Juan Manuel Marquez in the list, and not Shane Mosely? How do you justifiy that, unless they just happen to be your favorites?

Oscar was past his best when he fought a PRIME Mayweather and bullied him IMHO. Mayweather may have won the boxing match with CLEANER punches but De La Hoya won the FIGHT.

Mayweather needs a good win over Cotto (at least) to move above De La Hoya.

 

**** off! Hopkins hasn't got a resume even comparable to De La Hoya's. There is no-one on Hopkins resume who comes close to either Whitaker or Chavez. I honestly don't think Hopkins has a better win than De La Hoya's over Quartey.

None of that is relevant when it comes to legacy. Oscar beat better fighters, therefore, ranks above Mayweather.

PBF will rank ahead of Oscar in legacy Oscar can't beat the elites and is 0-5 against them:deal Beating a shot Chavez prves nothing and he got a gift against a fadded Pea in a fight which he was dropped and clowned. PBF will be remembered the better fighter how can he not? He's undefeated, far more skilled and was more dominant not to mention he's 1-0 against him about to be 2-0 and the greatest 130 pound fighter off all time. PBF is already a top 30 ATG Oscar is barely top 75.
