Had he trained MMA from the start..I see him as a bigger, scarier version of Manhoef

okay I think some of you misunderstood the question. First of all a prime tyson of 88 would most def rule mma and other combat sports.

I'll tell you why. From a pesonal standpoint, i have started training for mma for about a year now. I had been boxing for about 4 years all amateur.

I have completely dominated my 6 amateur fights that i have had. My stricking is far superior than most. It's becasue of boxing that i can punch and k.o if i land.

I lost my first amateur fight because i had no ground game. After 5 months of extensive BJJ and take down defense i feel that i can be pro sometime in the next year. Boxing was my passion but just honestly did not have a future in it because of my frame and weight. MMa is a blessing to me.

I strongly feel that an elite boxer learns how to fight on the floor and develops takedown defense he can dominate a traditional mma fighter. Let's just say should floyd mayweather train for a bout a year to a year and a half mma he would be able to be competetive with the best in the sport.!!!!

Well yes...Tyson was probably the greatest combination puncher in the heavyweight division, since Joe Louis. If you win you've set you and your family up for life.If you lose you might take a beating that'd finish your career and ruin your health.

Tyson's peekaboo style would suck in MMA. He fought at the entirely wrong range.

Something tells me that Mike Tyson, right out of the boxing ring into the cage, would be something akin to Phil Baroni: Part Deux.

    Takedown, mount, fight over.

He's Kimbo with less takedown defense.

man shame on you, comparing tyson to kimbo? the ****s wrong with you? prime tyson was one of the best boxers ever, he had every skill he needed perfected. Kimbo doesnt have **** on him, not even now. tyson KTFO1 kimbo

with a coach he respects, someone like Cus, for other areas of MMA he would've gave just as much effort in learning the rest. His prime would probably have been just as short but it wouldve been very dominating IMO.

tyson isnt just famous for his boxing skills. he is more famous for the time and determination that he had when training. if he did MMA he would put the same time and determination into that as he did boxing.

IMO tyson drops weight down to fight at light heavyweight.

wasnt tyson's walk around weight like 215-220 or something like that?

The premise is straight transplant, no extra coaching.

In that case, its as I said; takedown, mount, fight over.

ah, alright then with no extra coaching a good submission fighter would have his number assuming he didn't eat too many punches getting the takedown. theres always the punchers chance and he has a hell of a chance.

Just imagine a prime Coleman, Kerr, or Erikson; it would be death by headbutt.
