The Tyson who stopped Spinks vs the Fraizer who defeated Ali.

I honestly think the 1988 version of Mike Tyson was the best heavyweight there ever was.

And no, I'm not a flag waving Yankee Doodle Dandy.

Nor am I over the top on Iron Mike. From 1989 onwards, he was eminently beatable by fighters of the time, let alone ATGs.

Watch the Larry Holmes & Michael Spinks fights. In fact, just watch the last 90 seconds of the Holmes fight to see Tyson at his best.

Larry Holmes was equivalent to the version of Wlad that Joshua fought while Spinks was Tyson Fury (undefeated lineal champ).

Neither had ever been stopped before & never were again.

I don't want to sell Frazier short. But I think Tyson takes better single shot from Frazier than the other way around.
But if this fight goes to the second half, I actually favour Frazier to smoke the kid dynamite out.

In theory, you could have said the same in regard to Fraizer vs Foreman. Making it there in the real world is the hard part.

    True lol.
Foreman is physically too strong for Frazier or anyone as a matter of fact to push back.
I think if Frazier can bob and weave and somehow avoiding Tyson's shot, we might have a fight down the stretch.

I tend to favor Tyson by stoppage, but if Frazier perseveres and makes it into the 6th/7th rounds relatively fresh and unscathed, then I think things start shifting in Joe's favor.

Tyson and it wouldn't even be a fight. Tyson was all wrong for Frazier and the Tyson uppercut would've been devastating. Tyson never had stamina issues until he got out of prison so Frazier couldn't wait him out, he'd have to fight and Tyson was too fast and too strong. Tyson's body attack sets up everything.

This. Tyson in his prime was a complete nightmare for giant heavyweights, but I could see Tyson even at his best struggling and even losing to Frazier, who was a dangerous man in 1971. Frazier after the first Ali fight seemed to have lost his hunger, since he starting coming in too heavy and was much slower. After 1971 I'd pick a prime Tyson all day.

For the past few days, you've been making sarcastic posts in the classic section. Like how you told us Johnny Pachek would pummell a prime Tyson. You said "Paychek wouldn't be answering bells, he'd be ringing them!"
