Could Willard maul and spoil Tyson or would it be a replay of his fight with Dempsey?

It would be a replay of the Dempsey fight. Willard too slow to hold off Tyson's attack.

He didn't seem any slower than Smith

Willard's chin holds steady for a few but Tyson ultimately ends this in the early rounds. I don't think he'd quite do the damage Dempsey did, but Willard would have to be dragged out nonetheless

What is the ruleset? Does Mike get to stand over his fallen foe and punch him as he defenselessly rises? If so, there would be a manslaughter charge filed.

Unless you're talking about the version Dempsey fought, it wouldn't be a replay of the Dempsey fight.

Tyson would win, but Willard of the Johnson fight wasn't easy to hit clean, not sure if Tyson gets the KO.

I think the real question is does Willard get to stand over his fallen foe and punch him as he defenselessly rises... this is the question!

Tyson literally slices n dices this big oaf, handing the leftovers to the homeless in Brownsville.

This. As much as I like Dempsey he fought and beat an over the hill Willard. Willard was 38 years old and past prime and was inactive for three years when Dempsey destroyed him. Willard of the Johnson fight or earlier was better than Mitch Green or Bonecrusher Smith, so Tyson wouldn’t run over him. In a 10-12 round fight Tyson would definitely outpoint Willard as long as he avoided Willard’s right hand or uppercut. However, in a 15+ round fight I’d pick Willard to stop Tyson.
