another stupid post.. jesus where are the smart tyson fans? also... foreman went life and death with alext stewart and savarese? this guy never watched these fights
yes, foreman being 42 and being much more competitive against evander in his absolute peak and tyson geting ****d by an old version of holyfield with problems of heart without hair
I have always thought Foreman would destroy Tyson. I still do, but I am not quite as sure as I used to be.
Tyson and Mathis jnr. were friendly with each other. If you read 'Facing Tyson' Little Buster says that he knew that Tyson was cutting corners and no longer using what was termed 'the willy', which was that little bag used by D'Amato fighters for training head movement and timing. Mathis Jnr. Was a respectable fighter but he had no punch at all. A huge disadvantage against world-class opposition.
Guess you conveniently forget that Foreman was an old man and had been out of the ring for 10 years....
Stunned isn't quite the same as being completely out on your feet though, Foreman had a better chin than Tyson.
Well, I was actually there for the Stewart fight, however that was before you were born so I give you a pass. Foreman's face looked worse than when he fought Holyfield when he wore dark sunglasses for two weeks straight when he was in public including the HBO special after the fight a week later..........he covered his face with dark glasses after the Stewart fight too. Fact is that speed was always Foreman's kryptonite.....Ali bounced off and stunned him repeatedly with lead right hands which are a insult to a Pro getting hit with that punch . Foreman would have major problems with his disregard for defense and Tyson's speed and combos. Tyson would be challenged to stop Foreman in his tracks and avoid the push back followed by Foreman's haymaker uppercuts. However I believe Tyson will beat him to the punch by a mile. Genuine 50/50 fight with both at their best.
Did Tyson ever beat anyone who actually thought they would beat Tyson? As Foreman once said: "He (George) wasn't even the toughest guy in Houston's 5 Ward...there was some other bad-bass that was #1". So Foreman isn't going to be scared of Tyson.....which isn't good news for Tyson.
Funny I just started reading Facing Tyson this morning. I've read it before but I'm choosing which chapters to read right now. Facing Ali was a much better book. This one doesn't really have the detailed responses and it's almost like the author is struggling to put chapters together.
We are talking prime Foreman not old and slow Foreman. Prime Foreman destroys prime Tyson. Foreman would take control and move Tyson onto his back foot immediately. First solid blow by George puts the fear of God in Tyson and it's all downhill from there. Foreman ko three.
Foreman was slow and threw wild shots. But he had the chin to withstand the Tyson early onslaught. Don't think it would end early as foreman wouldn't get to Tyson early, foreman tko8. Or if Tyson was lucky and foreman was all out of ideas. Tyson UD
Foreman was NOT slow. Ali when asked if anything surprised him in the first round in his bout with George said....his speed I did not think he was that fast.
