If someone doesn't see the difference between Tyson 88/Holyfield 88 and Tyson 96/Hokyfield 96, he or she is either prejudiced or doesn't understand boxing at all. Maybe both? Holyfield has made significant progress, Tyson has made the opposite. We can speculate why. Whether one took steroids, whether one trained more, whether one burned out and the other drove better, is not something that can be measured... for my part, I suspect that Tyson may have started taking steroids in 1995, but unlike Holyfield he was simply getting more and more worse... technically, mentally, cardio. His timing was worse and he got tired faster. Tyson from 1996 thrown into 1986 could have fought a very equal fight with Berbick because Trevor wanted to fight and not give up the belt like Bruno or Seldo. Tyson was rusty and too focused on a short evening like Liston and Foreman before Ali. History teaches that such fights and such approaches are disastrous. Watch the fight between Tyson Fury and an old MMA debutant. I would like to see the Berbick 86 vs Tyson 96 fight, it would be interesting

I don’t necessarily disagree, someone below their weight will have an easier time putting on lean mass but THAT MUCH of it is where my issue stems from.
