1989 Frank Bruno vs Current Deontay Wilder

I remember the first Tyson vs Bruno fight, before Douglas for those who don't know, that was the first time anyone had seen Tyson in trouble. If THAT Bruno was fighting Wilder, Wilder would be in for a battle of pure will.

This Bruno would run wild through the HW division of today. He was a warrior.

 

Bruno jab would control bambi legs with ease

He gave Tyson and Lewis a hard night he would smoke wilder .. come on

 

Bruno is better than anyone Wilder has fought so far. I mean if Molina can make Wilder to the stanky leg dance and novice like Washington out box him then you have to think Bruno would have a lot of success with that ram rob jab and clubbing power.

Wilder would always be dangerous and I could see him struggling then coming back to score a dramatic KO like he did vs Washington and Szpilka.

I think it comes down to what strategy Wilder employs. If he looks to KO Bruno early and mix it with him like he has done in many fights, Bruno likely catches him with something and finishes him early. But if Wilder respects Bruno's power and boxes then I could see him stopping a tired Bruno late in the fight.

Bruno controls Wilder with his jab and eventually knocks him out. Wilder's swings would be countered by Bruno's precision right hand. He had a hell of a left hook too.

Any half decent HW in history would beat deontay..

I agree. After Stiverne he needs to REALLY step on the gas before he gets old and Bermane is still his best win.

 

Ha, it always makes me chuckle when i remember just how dirty a fighter Bruno was. I know this is a dig at Wilder thread but im not actually sure who would of won this one. Wilder could pick him off at range, Bruno,s chin wasnt great but Wilder gets very sloppy and Bruno hits very hard. Or for the sake of the thread Bruno knocks the **** out of him KO3 Wilder retires from the sport.

 

Bruno had a magnificent chin, it was his mentality that was fragile.
