Does Foreman still beat him, or is he too old this time?

I think Frazier would outwork him to win a decision. Comeback Foreman is not the stylistic nightmare for Frazier that the 70's Foreman was.

I'm a huge comebacking Foreman fan, but a prime Frazier outhustles an older George. Probably 8 rounds to 4. Similar to the Holyfield fight for George.

I don't know. That's a hell of a lot of weight for a 214 pound Frazier to contend with. I'm not sure if Foreman had as much velocity on his power shots as he did in the 70's, but with the much extra mass, one punch could mean lights out.

Yeah, your post sounds good to you in writing, but Frazier was out on his feet after the huge uppercut Foreman landed for the second knock down. Now imagine what would happen had Old Foreman planted the same exact uppercut he nailed Cooney with on Frazier. And with Frazier's duck, bob and weave style? Forget about it.

Comeback Foreman hit no harder then the original incarnation.

How could you think otherwise when 70's George threw every punch as hard as he could, wide as a barn door?

Sure, he couldn't throw powerful punches 10 rounds into a fight like the measured 90's Foreman... But as to who punches harder, period?

Sure as **** ain't "took me 10 rounds to knockout a blown up LHW" comeback George. Man also couldn't stop Tommy Morrison of all people, ALONG with a undefeated, young Savarese whom Tyson blew out in one.

Young George was more dynamic, aggressive, wound up more, etc.

Feel free to give us a comeback Foreman fight where he stops someone with the chin of a Chuvalo, or even a LeDoux.

This is how I kinda feel as well... Even though a 40+ year old Foreman could have potentially still beaten Frazier, I don't think that he had quite as much snap in both hands anymore... If Joe survived the first few rounds, ( and I think he might have ), then I could see him taking a decision. One possible factor though, is that George's cross armed defense had improved drastically in his second career.. I don't know if Frazier could have penetrated that defense, and in the process of trying, might have left himself open for some big shots... George also developed a habit of giving guys a nasty little gut check in the clinches, and that was more effective than a lot of people realized.... Very tough match for Joe, but i think he'd have a better chance against the older Goerge..

Foreman is one foe Frazier would never beat. This would be a considerably older George, but Smokin Joe's come forward style does not serve him well against this particular opponent. I'm thinking Foreman by UD.

Frazier wins and it's not because of Foreman's age. It's because of George's weight.
This is why Foreman lost to Holyfield. A sharper, trimmer Foreman could beat either fighter and Tyson as well, but that's another story.

Nobody knocks frazier out with 1 punch. He was up and down like a yo-yo with a prime punching foreman so an old foreman is'nt bettering that...
