Elmer Ray replaces Razor Ruddock in their 1991 fights. What happens when big puncher meets mega puncher?

Unfortunately too little is known about Elmer Ray for me to make an intelligent comment about this matchup. He obviously punched very hard as reflected in his record and at one point was briefly either the #1 or # 2 contender before Walcott took that away from him. I’ve looked for footage and even commentary on him and never found much. It’s possible something may have come up on YouTube or elsewhere but I haven’t Checked in a long time...That said I’d like to see him in action with another brutal puncher and a bout with Mike Tyson might be interesting....... Or short lived depending.....

Ray faced Louis in a few exhibitions and I think got knocked out in one of them. On that basis you'd pick Tyson to knock him out

Tyson obliterates him. Ray is quite overrated IMO. He shouldn't have his best win, and tended to lose vs to the best of a division vastly inferior to Tyson's.

That's a little unfair. Ray's exhibitions against Louis were right at the tail-end of his career, when he'd already dropped out of the ratings. The last one was a depressing affair which took place just a week after Ray had been knocked out by John Holman. The crowd booed his feeble performance, he couldn't come out for the fourth round, and afterwards his manager requested that the NBA suspend him for his own safety.
